Outlets & Receptacles
Warm/loose outlets, “half-hot” tops not working, or devices that won’t stay powered.
If it’s past the meter/main and inside the home, we likely handle it—outlets, switches, lighting, protection, and panels. We don’t work on the utility’s service to the house; everything after that is our lane.
Warm/loose outlets, “half-hot” tops not working, or devices that won’t stay powered.
Buzzing, flicker, or LED compatibility problems with older dimmers and three-ways.
Rooms that dim or pop, can-light retrofits, and better controls for day-to-day use.
Nuisance trips, labeling clean-up, and GFCI/AFCI protection where it should be.
Hot breakers, discoloration, crackling, or smells—evaluated and corrected quickly.
Kitchen appliances, laundry, shop tools, treadmills, office gear—set up to run reliably.
At the panel, look for a handle that isn’t fully ON. One firm flip OFF → ON can restore power. If it trips again, leave it OFF and book service.
Kitchen, baths, garage, and exterior outlets often share a GFCI. If an outlet won’t work, press RESET on any GFCI you can see in those areas.
Some outlets have a top or bottom controlled by a wall switch. Try the room’s switches to confirm.
Plug in a small item you know works (like a phone charger) to rule out a failed device or bulb.
If you notice heat, discoloration, crackling, or odor at a device, don’t use that circuit and reach out.
No covers to remove or parts to pull—those checks stay simple. We’ll handle the testing and fix the cause.
Flicker and buzz aren’t random. They usually come from dimmer/LED mismatches, loose terminations, or shared loads that weren’t planned for when the house was built. Swapping to compatible controls and re-torquing terminations often stabilizes a whole room.
Warm outlets and repeat trips point to stress. Space heaters, hair dryers, treadmills, and garage tools are common clues that a circuit is carrying more than it should. Dedicated runs or right-sized protection make the problem stop instead of hiding it.
Panels tell a story. Mixed labeling, tandem breakers in the wrong spots, or missing GFCI/AFCI coverage are signs it’s time for a clean-up. We document readings and give you plain-language options so approvals are easy.
